8. HealthKit Data Collection and Use

The EatMeter app integrates with Apple Health (HealthKit) to access certain health and activity data that you explicitly allow through the iOS permission system. We only read the data you choose to share with us.

Steps — daily step count data.
Weight — body weight measurements entered by you or synced from other devices.
Active Energy — calories burned through physical activity.

How We Use This Data

To display your activity and weight information inside the app.
To generate personalized insights, progress tracking, and statistics.
To provide and improve core EatMeter functionality related to nutrition and activity monitoring.

Data Storage and Sharing

We do not sell, share, or use your HealthKit data for advertising or marketing purposes. In the current version of the app, HealthKit data is not stored on our servers and remains on your device unless otherwise stated. If any server storage or backup functionality is added in the future, we will clearly disclose it and request additional consent.

Advertising Use

We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, analytics for ads, or any profiling for marketing purposes.

Revoking Access

You can revoke EatMeter's access to HealthKit at any time in the Apple Health app: go to Health → Apps → EatMeter and disable the permissions, or uninstall the app.
